Interment will be at the Collins Center Cemetery. COLLINS WOMAN KILLED IN CRASH A Town of Collins resident was killed in a one-vehicle accident on Route 39 Saturday afternoon. Charolette Wozniak, 66, suffered fatal head injuries after the car she was in left the roadway, went down an embankment and struck a utility pole around 2 p.m. Wozniak was a rear passenger and was not wearing a seat belt, police said. Another passenger, Iona Dauria, 78, suffered facial injuries and was flown by Mercy Flight to Erie County Medical Center. She was listed in serious condition and undergoing further evaluation late Saturday. The driver, Harriet Mackmer, 78, of Collins, suffered minor injuries and was treated at Tri-County Memorial Hospital in Gowanda and released. It was not clear Saturday why Mackmer left the roadway. The Buffalo News October 21, 2000 - Helen L Allport Age 84, of Collins, NY, October 21, 2000, beloved wife of Francis; mother of Mrs. Paul (Francine) Foster of Perrysburg, NY; sister of Edgar Jay of South Dayton and the late Mabel Constantine; also survived by two grandsons, Jeffrey F. Gilbert, 76, of Midland, Michigan, passed away Sunday, November 19, 2000 at Mid Michigan Medical Center. The son of the late William and Daisy (Warner) Gilbert, he was born in Centerville, NY on Jan. 18, 1924, where he was raised and educated. Mr. Gilbert had worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad as a trackman, then worked at Kolk Industries for 25 years. He married the former Juanita Robinson in Franklinville on March 15, 1963. They lived in Collins Center and Gowanda prior to moving to Midland in 1996. Survivors include his wife, Juanita; two sons, James of South Carolina and Kerry (Elaine) of Sterling, Va.; three daughters, Darlene Gilbert of California, Coliss Strohauer of Gowanda, and Lorraine Watson of Kentucky; a stepdaughter, Cynthia (William Kruper) Rand of Sanford; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brother Charles Gilbert of Salamanca; a sister, Ruth White of Salamanca. He was predeceased by a brother, Harlan. Arrangements were made by the Wilson Miller Funeral Home, Midland, Michigan.
