CHILD SUPPORT PROBLEMS

1. Every time I need something from the CSCU I find I have a new caseworker. Is there a large turnover or something? If this is not the reason, I would like to know why the case goes from someone who knows the history to a new person.
2. What happened to the new system I thought had been adopted? I was under the impression that requests such as an increase in child support payments due to the payer's income or non-payment of child support where something that would be done without having to appear in court, but reviewed by the examiner, and then executed.
3. It does not seem to me there are any reviews of child support cases to make sure the payer has reported changes in income, address and employer.
4. 6. I mentioned in my last call to the Customer Service that the child support payments are a week late now, but after review of the payments made, the person at CSCU didn't seem to think so. It was simple arithmetic.

Thanks for this forum. A lot of us need to vent, and many do need to find out what can be done. I have heard horror stories like this before--a couple I know had separated for a time and child support paperwork was started. After the couple got back together one of them was told to pay child support. While trying to straighten out the mess, it was enforced, and the money was taken from their income tax through the IRS. That child support was taken from the parents and given to the CSCU. IT WAS NEVER GIVEN TO THE PARENTS for support of the child. The family was being responsible and was taking care of their own child and they were punished for it. The entire family lost.

I am suggesting to everyone, no matter where you live, if you are having a problem with Child Support, look at the problems created by the new Child Support Collection Units; find out how many people have been alienated by the system before taking it to court! Try to work the problems out on your own. Sit down and talk, you may be amazed at what a bit of conversation can do. Don't allow the government to become involved in your life, it will only serve to frustrate you farther. Hire a mediator if you must - but REFUSE to allow the State, County and Federal Government to continuously make your lives more complex. There has to be a better way!!!!

The government can't seem to get much right -- they slander each other during political confrontations; they spend, spend, spend and do not seem to be able to balance a budget.

Our President, in view of the Adelphia and World Com scandals wants to make executives accountable for their actions, yet no one has asked him for accountability for selling off two thirds of his oil company in Iraq 2 months before his father brought about the Gulf War.

The United States is involved in an anti-terrorism dilemma, yet no one has asked George W. Bush if this could possibly be a personal vendetta rather than a true act of terrorism against the United States. Has the President volunteered to the world that he was business partners with Osama's brother, and vacationed with the entire family on several occasions prior to the time when Osama's brother was killed flying a small private aircratft in Texas?

The problem is simple, the government is screwing up, in every aspect of the term, and now their screw-ups are affecting the very persons they were designed to help; OUR CHILDREN.
