Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Arthur J. "Bucky" Schindler, 73, of Gowanda, died April 22, 2002 in Buffalo General Hospital in Buffalo.
     Mr. Schindler served in the U.S. Navy. An ironworker, he had worked out of Ironworkers Local 6 from 1952 until his retirement in 1984.
     He was a member of VFW Post 8265, American Legion Post 1587, the Navy Club and the Cattaraugus Indian Reservation Volunteer Fire Department from 1968 until his death.
     He was the husband of the late Shirley "Boomer" (Cooper) Schindler; son of the late Marshall and Beulah (Jimerson) Schindler; father of Patricia Schindler of Centennial, CO, Jennifer Tallchief of Fort Collins, CO, Michael Schindler and Arthur Schindler Jr.; both of Gowanda, Edward Schindler and Daniel Schindler, both of Vellejo, CA, and the late Wanda Joy Schindler and Martin Schindler; and brother of Martin Schindler of Buffalo, Jon "Jack" Schindler of Gowanda, Gary Schindler and Shirley Conklin, both of Irving, and Marilyn of Buffalo; also survived by 17 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
     Memorial contributions may be made to the Cattaraugus Indian Reservation Volunteer Fire Department.
     Arrangements were by the Hole-Parker Funeral Chapel, Silver Creek.

Silverheels of Irving; daughter of the late Raymond and Frances (Harris) Kennedy; mother of John Silverheels of Irving, George Silverheels Jr. of Gowanda, David Silverheels of Cheektowaga; Carolyn (Art) Jimerson of Gowanda, Nancy Silverheels of Olean, Amy Silverheels of Irving, and the late Thomas Silverheels; and sister of Phyllis Kettle and Esther Kennedy, both of Irving, Hazel Kennedy and Sylvia Jimerson, both of Gowanda, Linda Kennedy of Kennedy, Gene Kennedy of Gowanda, and the late Merlin and Charlie Kennedy; also survived by 12 grandchildren.
